Location: Located approximately 35 miles northeast of downtown Dallas on the western shore of Lake Lavon, the City of Lucas was incorporated on February 19, 1959. Our current population is approximately 5,015, and we currently a General Law Type “A” Municipality. The City of Lucas is conveniently located to allow for quick access to Central Expressway (Hwy 75), President George Bush Freeway (SH 190), and SH 121: Lucas is situated near SH 190 to the south, Central Expressway to the west, and SH 121 to the north.

The density is 435 people per square mile. With the convenience of Lake Lavon, offering rich wildlife environment or if you enjoy fishing, you can have your boat launched onto the lake within minutes.
